The case is easy to wash and extends the life of the weighted blanket. Of course, you can also use your own duvet cover over the case. Satin woven cotton is known for its superior strength, durability and exquisite comfort. The complex weaving technique that underlies the special properties of the cotton satin exposes a thread to the surface of the fabric without being disturbed by an oncoming thread. It gives cotton satin its smooth and soft surface with a superior strength. Cotton satin is more durable, less resistant to wear and can be washed at a higher temperature compared to bamboo. The textile is certified by the international control body Oeko Tex®. The labelling means that the textiles have undergone rigorous testing, and are guaranteed to be free from additives that may be dangerous to skin and health. Cotton satin becomes soft without fabric softener. Some people say that plasticisers destroy the cotton fibres, but we have seen no sign that this would be the case. If you want to use fabric softener, it is fine, but do not overdose, the same applies to detergents.
