COMPO ORGANIC Cherry Fruit Fly Traps, 3 Pieces
Restrictions on plant protection products (PPPs): PPPs may generally only be used on open land if they are used for agriculture, forestry, or horticulture. For applications on other areas (so-called non-cultivated land such as courtyards, garage entrances, sidewalks) or on paved surfaces, you require an exemption from your local plant protection authority (Section 12 (2) of the Plant Protection Act). Product description: COMPO cherry fruit fly traps protect all types of cherries against the cherry fruit fly and its maggots. These pests lay their eggs on the still-yellow cherries. The maggots then burrow into the fruit, rendering it inedible. The attractant and the special yellow hue are particularly effective at attracting the pests. One trap per meter of tree height is sufficient. The pests are trapped solely by the glue, without the use of insecticides. The relatively dry special glue protects hands and clothing and facilitates application. Application: For: All types of cherries Against: Cherry fruit flies and their maggots Properties: Glue trap with integrated attractant Protects all types of cherries from cherry fruit flies and their maggots Easy to install Guaranteed capture success thanks to the special yellow tint Instructions for use: Starting in May, female cherry fruit flies lay up to 200 eggs on the still-yellow cherries. Usually, only one egg is laid per cherry. Sunny spots in the treetops are preferred. The 4-6 mm long maggot then bores into the cherry and gnaws away at the flesh around the pit. The fruit then becomes dull, soft, and rotten. The maggots then leave the fruit and pupate in the soil. The COMPO cherry fruit fly trap catches the females, preventing them from laying eggs. To do this, place the trap in sunny spots on the tree from mid-May to the end of June. As a preventative measure, all fallen fruit should be collected and destroyed while the maggots are still in it (do not compost). Pick all the fruit and work the soil (loose) so that the maggots die in winter. Installation: 1. Wait for the right time. Hang the traps as soon as the cherries begin to turn yellow, especially in sunny areas. The rule of thumb is: 1 trap per meter of tree height. Handle the traps at the unglued areas. 2. Remove the protective film. Only handle the trap at the unglued areas and peel off the protective film. 3. Set up the trap. To do this, place the holes in the trap so that they are aligned. 4. Place the attractant. Remove the attractant plate and secure it with the enclosed clip. 5. Hang the trap. Pull a wire through the hole and attach the trap to the tree. 6. Pay attention to the foliage. If possible, place the trap so that no leaves or fruit are stuck to it. Remove traps during harvest. Application period: May to June Active ingredients: Pheromone attractant and glue, insecticide-free Packaging size: 3 pieces Important information: Here we provide you with general information about the risks of using plant protection products for humans, animals, and the natural environment.
