Also known as Castor Bean and Palma Christi, Castor Oil has been used therapeutically in ancient India, China, Persia, Egypt, Africa, Greece, Rome, America and in 17th century Europe. Today it is used as an emollient and skin softener, treatment of gastrointestinal problems, lacerations and other skin disorders such as psoriasis and can be found in many skin care products. The seeds of the plant contain alkaloid ricinine and toxalbumine ricin. They yield a fixed oil, which is used chiefly for medicinal purposes, both internally and externally. The glycerides of ricinoleic acid in castor oil are mainly responsible for its purgative effect and therefore it acts as a laxative by stimulating both the large and small intestines and can help guard against intestinal inflammation and worms. Castroclean capsules may be of benefit to: - People with occasional constipation - People with skin conditions such as psoriasis - People with piles and anal fishers Recommended Daily Intake Adults and children over 10 years of age, one to two capsules daily. In extreme cases can take up to four for the first day and then reduce to one or two capsules daily. As part of a calorie controlled diet or slimming program for adults take one capsule daily.
