Description

Pinole is a traditional Mexican semi-finished product. Usually it is roasted or unroasted ground corn often mixed with roasted cocoa, sugar and cinnamon, in some cases with chía and sunflower seeds. Western audiences were introduced to McDouglas' bestseller Born To Run. Although this is not a particularly tasty mixture, there must be a reason why the Rarámuri runners, considered to be the best long-distance runners in the world, have used it for centuries. Probably the balance between nutrients and its digestion gives good results.
