High-power active splitters PS1248G 4 pairs enable data terminals that were not originally designed to accept powerZ Ethernet to be powered by Power over EthernetMidspans. The PS1248-4P PDAS splitter can power devices such as WiMAX CPEs, small WiMAX base stations, 802.11n access points, thin clients, PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) IP cameras, video phones, and more. In addition, such devices can only accept voltage levels lower than the standard minimum voltage of PoE (44v in IEEE802.3af / 50v in 802.3at). With the PS1248-4P splitter, these terminals immediately become PoE—without any modifications required on their end. A splitter is identified as a powered device (PD) before the center span of the power supply, and once detected and energized, it physically separates the data and power streams, reaching through a single cable, to two separate wires (LAN amp; DC) that go directly to the data terminal.
