Solgar Phytosterol Complex 1000mg contains high quality Phytosterol which may be able to reduce cholesterol by inhibiting the absorption of dietary cholesterol within the intestines. The molecular structure of phytosterols is almost identical to cholesterol so the body is unable to tell the difference and attachs it to cholesterol receptors in the intestines. As there are limited numbers of receptors for cholesterol attachment and absorption, phytosterols are able to physically block the cholesterol and prevent the body from absorbing it. Suitable for vegetarians. Directions: As a food supplement for adults, two (2) softgels twice daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Do not exceed directions for use. Ingredients: Two (2) softgels provide: Phytosterol Complex (from soy) 1000 mg, Total Sterol Esters 900 mg (including beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, brassicasterol) Warnings: If you are taking any medications or have a medical condition please consult your healthcare practitioner before taking any dietary supplements.
