Folklore is an artistic composition of beautifully detailed landscapes and characters a touching supernatural story and intuitive movement-sensitive gameplay. At the Tokyo Game Show the game has already been presented under the title Monster Kingdom. Folklore was developed in the Game Republic studios in Tokyo under the direction of the legendary game designer Yoshiki Okamoto (responsible producer of Onimusha Devil May Cry and Resident Evil). The story begins when Ellen a young woman receives a letter from her long-believed mother. The sceptical journalist Keats who works for an occult magazine is at the same time urged to identify a mysterious attack. The fates of this unequal couple unite in the Irish village of Doolin. This little sleepy nest hides a secret gate to the underworld and the answer to a 17 year old secret. The two playable characters Ellen and Keats must travel separated through seven huge realms inhabited by horrible monsters the folklore or even folks whose forces they must use to survive. Players can use the SIXAXIS wireless controller to pull the folk forces out of their bodies.
