Peter Redgrove was not only a prolific poet but an indefatigable writer of prose both imaginative and discursive He was also an extremely responsive and articulate interviewee. His imaginative prose is fully represented in the other volumes of the Peter Redgrove Library in this collection of essays and interviews are pieces that reflect on his childhood education and marriages on his own poetry and the writing of others who were especially important to him and on his passionate involvement with science and religion and his attempt to forge a worldview that integrated the two. Neil Roberts is Professor of English Literature at the University of Sheffield. He has written numerous books and essays on literature including The Lover the Dreamer and the World The Poetry of Peter Redgrove and Narrative and Voice in Postwar Poetry and has edited the Blackwell Companion to TwentiethCentury Poetry. His latest book is Ted Hughes A Literary Life. Peter Redgrove 19322003 worked in several interlinked fields as a poet novelist playwright and in psychological practice. He believed creative psychological and scientific work are aspects of the same common study and his insights are profound illuminating and constantly exciting. He received many awards during his life and was especially honoured by receiving the Queens Gold Medal for Poetry in 1996.
