Vocational education is an interface between practical and theoretical knowledge involving both workrelated general knowledge and practical knowledge generated at work. The contributions cover many features of VET Vocational Education and Training in a global world. Part one examines VETs workrelatedness as education marked by social or group rather than individual dynamics and is inductive and practiceoriented. The second part of this volume critically examines features of vocational education policy that are central to a number of presentday global social and economic concerns in light of changes in apprenticeship policies information technology structural adjustment crises in youth culture and shifting regional political and economic agendas.
